Managing Customer Contacts

The Customers section works just like the contact list on your phone. Each entry represents a customer, though not every customer will have an active chatroom.
When running Broadcasts Campaign, you can easily filter customer contacts using labels.

The iSlash AI platform automatically builds detailed customer profiles by collecting data from multiple channels. This gives businesses a clear view of customer preferences, making it easier to personalize every interaction.
In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to import and export customer contacts. This is typically a one-time setup. After that, new chats will automatically generate customer profiles for you.
Setup Requirements
An active iSlash AI account, get free access here.
Your existing customer contact list.
Import Customer Contacts
Add a single customer
Go to Customers, at the top right corner, find and click "+Add":

At the pop up window, input the contact information:

First Name
Last Name
WhatsApp Number
Once completed, click "Create" to save.

You have successfully created a customer contact:

The default fields are First Name, Last Name, Birthday, Gender, Membership Point, Address and Company.
For Custom Fields, navigate to Settings > Customer Custom Fields > +

Editing the new custom field:

Field Name:
Field Type: Text | Number | Date
Click Save to add.

You'll now be able to add new customer data at Customers:

Add Customer Contacts in Bulk
Importing multiple customer contacts at once, involves the use of Excel templates.
Important Tip: To ensure customer info is imported correctly into iSlash, please export the latest Excel template from your account, make changes, and import the updated file to avoid errors or duplication.
Go to Customers, at the top right corner, find and click "Export".
(For first import and no custom field, you can also download the Excel Template here, and skip step 2 & 3)
A drop down menu will appear, click "Customer Info" and wait for the generation.
Once completed, proceed to click "Download".

You will acquire a Customer Info Excel template:

DO NOT edit ROW 1.
Add customer data from ROW 2 onwards.
Sort and insert your customer contact info into the Excel template without changing the original arrangement and format.

ID: DO NOT EDIT; please leave blank for new contact.
First Name
Last Name
Whatsapp Contacts: this is the platform's identifier, input this contact in this format: country code + contact number
Important Note on WhatsApp Contact Format |

Ensure No Duplicate of Phone Numbers |
Once you have the updated Excel file, go to "Import", click "Customer Info"

Upload your updated Excel file, then click "Import".

System will import your customer contacts:
Adding New Customer Contacts - for entries without iSlash Customer ID, system will identify the record as a new customer contact.
Updating Existing Customers' Information - do not edit the existing Customer ID.
Important Note: If the WhatsApp number matches an existing customer contact but has no customer ID, the old record will be marked as "Out of Service", and a new customer is created.
Wait while system integrate your customer information;
Once completed, the import status will be displayed:
You have successfully imported customer contacts in bulk.

Insights
How do I check if customers data was imported successfully?
There are a few ways to confirm:
If you imported using an Excel file, a summary popup will appear showing how many records are successfully added.
You can also go to the Customer section and search by name or number to check if the data is there.
Can I delete multiple customer contacts at once?
Batch deletion is not available at the moment. However, you can delete customer contacts one by one.
I imported the same contact number with a different name. What will happen?
If you import a contact number that already exists in the system but with a different name, the existing contact will remain in the database. However, it will be automatically labeled as "Out of Service" to help you identify duplicates or outdated entries. You may update or manage the contact manually if needed.
Can I import Facebook and/or Instagram Customer Listing?
The ID shown in iSlash AI Platform is a special ID specifically used between Facebook users / IG users and iSlash.
Facebook uses this approach to a certain extent to protect user privacy.
While there are unofficial methods in the market to bypass this, but iSlash AI follows the official approach provided by Meta.This is part of Facebook’s privacy protection mechanism. Without it, everyone’s Facebook would be receiving even more spam messages than it already does.
The unofficial methods out there could potentially cause customer data to leak or lead to other issues.
