WhatsApp Business Messaging Pricing Update

As a Meta-certified BSP (Business Solution Provider), we want to make sure you hear about Meta's latest pricing changes as early as possible, so you can plan your messaging strategy ahead of time.

Meta has announced that starting October 1, 2026, pricing will change for the following two types of WhatsApp non-template messages:

1. Service Messages

Service messages are non-template messages sent to respond to a customer. They can be powered by a Person, Chatbot or AI solution.

What's changing:

• Effective date: October 1, 2026

• How Meta charges: Per message, in line with how template messages (Marketing / Utility / Authentication) are charged

• Rate: To be announced by Meta before September 1, 2026
  
  

⚠️ These messages have not been charged since November 1, 2024. Charging will resume on October 1, 2026.

Note: If you use an AI Assistant / AI Node, the AI credits consumed will be charged separately, and are not part of this message fee.

2. Utility Message Templates

Utility message templates sent to respond to a customer within an open 24-hour customer service window.

What's changing:

• Effective date: October 1, 2026

• How Meta charges: Per message

• Rate: To be announced by Meta before September 1, 2026
  
  

⚠️ These messages have not been charged since July 1, 2025, when sent within the 24-hour window. Charging will resume on October 1, 2026.

3. Other Important Notes

• The 72-hour free entry point window is not affected.

For conversations started through Click-to-WhatsApp ads or Facebook call-to-action buttons, service messages and other chargeable template messages (Marketing, Utility, Authentication) remain fully free within 72 hours of the conversation opening.
