Business Verification is an important step before obtaining blue tick verification.

On top of that, having your business verified in Business Manager has the following benefits:

• Demonstrate that you are an authorised representative of your business.

• Increase Business-initiated conversations in a rolling 24-hour period from 250 to 1,000 conversations.

• Be able to publish WhatsApp Flows, a structured and user-friendly forms that deliver bespoke experiences tailored to your customers' needs.

Pre-requisites:

1.  You must have full control of the business portfolio.

2. Supporting Documents to proof Business Registration, either one of the following:

• Business registration or licence document

• Government-issued business tax document: This could include a tax certificate. Self-filed tax documents are not accepted.

• Business bank statement

3. While some business registration documents do not contain business phone number, or you might be integrating a different phone number for WhatsApp Business API, it is pertinent to have also prepare the following:

• Utility bill: A utility bill is only accepted for Business address and Phone number. The legal business name must be on the utility bill. A utility bill is not an acceptable document for legal business name verification

Step-by-step Guide

1. Go to Business Manager, at the left panel, tap "Business Info".

2. At Business information, update Business details with reference to your supporting documents.

Important Note: Please fill in by copying exactly word for word from the supporting documents.

3. Next, go to Business verification status and click "View Details". This will bring you to the Security Centre (alternatively, you can tap on "Security Centre" at the left menu panel).

4. At Security Centre, scroll down to Business verification, select "Setting up a WhatsApp Business account" and tap "Start verification" to begin the verification process.

5. At the pop-up window, fill in business details, copy exactly word for word like in Business information in step 2.

6. Click Confirm when done. A list of business records will be shown.

   Proceed to next step if there is no matching business records.

6. Upload first document to verify legal business name. Note that the business info to match or prove will be listed in bullet points, please check your documents to ensure the details are available.

   Select the right document type at the drop down list; if the document does not include the business phone number, followed by a document to verify phone number.

6. Next, choose a method for verification. A confirmation code will be sent if you choose email, phone, text message or WhatsApp.

   

   • Email : The domain of your business email address must match the domain of your website

   • Phone number

   • Text message

   • WhatsApp message

   • Domain verification : Applicable only if existing domain has been verified.

7. For demonstration purpose, this is when you have chosen Test message (SMS): click "Text me now" to proceed, then check your phone for the confirmation code. Proceed to enter the confirmation code and click Next.

6. Finally, click "Done".
